Social BitTorrent Tracker
I just got some good idea from my friend, romerun. He suggested the idea to combine social network and BitTorrent together. As of now, most trackers offer a search page to find or browse the most recent torrent files. Once you look at each user detail, you will see what torrent files you are seeding or leeching. Anyway, it would be better to apply some social concept to bittorrent trackers.
Instead of browsing for new files from all users, imagine that you just browse for what your friends are downloading. No need to verify file quality because you may trust your friends. In addition, users may create new channel to add their torrent files and let other users subscribe easily. No need to search by limited, admin-defined categories.
Let me summarize the idea.
- You are what you are.
- You may add other users as friends or just contacts.
- You may create new channels and you have all rights in your own channels.
- You may allow all users or only friends to subscribe your channels.
- You may browse for whatever happen in your network in several views, e.g., yourself, your friends, your friends of friends and all users.
- Everything you download/upload may be added to any channels.
- You may restrict your originated files to only your friends, only friends of friends, all users or everyone even guest.
- This service should let you add external torrent files for recommendation to your network seamlessly. I mean something like last.fm.
Is that cool enough? For forum, just let anyone create and join groups. Umm. Actually, it is the combination of Flickr, Facebook and Multiply.

Great idea actually. However, some user might not like every of his friends see what he's downloading easily e.g. downloading porn LOL (some might want to be porn expert too LOL).
Also, if you want to open to very wide public, you might have to think hard because almost bittorrent files is ... illegal.
Right to the point, downloading pr0n is not as easy as anyone expect. You have to check out actress/style/plot/producer and the most important SS. Why do not trust your friends who have same style and taste? For privacy issue, you should only restrict access to only your friends.
Ah.. Probably this system should let users define their own group of friends to grant permission efficiently.
Ah... i should not trust romerun's taste.
