Last week, I started releasing jibjib beta. Beta for jibjib has very special meaning.

Actually, it has been released almost 3 times a day. Anyway, I am always the first beta tester. If it is good enough, I will announce in Twitter. So if you want to try the very latest beta version, just follow @sugree. And now I proudly present the latest #jibjib beta that should support 80% camera phone around the world.

I spent all day long for the latest jibjib beta. In case you didn't follow @sugree, I have been extending jibjib to support camera phone and TwitPic. Now it is mostly usable and seems to be stable enough. This is the right time to be beta tester. Note that it is not stable version. You are warned.

After running jibjib for a few months with only stable release, I can't continue this development style. Only stable means less testing. In other words, I am the only one tester. As a result, jibjib often has some bugs in some situations which I did not test. jibjib QC is not so good. That is why I have to release jibjib beta version regularly to find more beta testers to help me improve quality control process.

Last week when I released jibjib 1.0.16, I really wish to make it the last version of 1.0 series. Anyway, Twitter has changed behavior of since parameter for limiting friends timeline to return only new entries just for minimizing bandwidth. The cause of this problem is race condition that many entries may be submitted to Twitter at the same second.

That is not only one enhancement in this version, jibjib 1.0.17 also offers alternate authentication as a workaround for operators that silently dropped Authorization in header. One of this use case is DTAC. Anyway, this enhancement must be used with Birdnest only.
